Gabriel
Here are a few pictures of Gabriel's everyday life at the age of 9 months. He crawls like a champ and pulls himself up everywhere. He now discovers the world and it is a joy to watch him doing this. Time goes just far too quickly!

Park Lights 2012
At the end of February I was at the park lights at Grugapark in Essen. Just like the light games at the castle of Hohenlimburg, the park was also illuminated by the same light artist. Some of it was just like the "haunted castle", but also a few other items were highlighted accordingly. As the park is still relatively large, you had to walk a bit. Unfortunately it was a bit crowded on the day, but it was still fun. Especially the Gruga tower and the alpinum were photographically interesting.

Schumacher-Africa
In the middle of February in 2012, I have photographed the current exhibitions at the Emil Schumacher Museum in Hagen. The exhibition "Schumacher - Africa" shows the pictures of Schumacher in dialogue with monumental sculptures from the Niger Delta in the skylight room. The exhibition of the sculptures and the paintings of Schumacher was really worth seeing and fascinating.

Minnesota-Suite
The second exhibition that I have photographed in the middle of February in the Emil Schumacher Museum in Hagen, was the "Minnesota Suite". This exhibition is located in the cabinet and shows gouaches by Emil Schumacher, made in the late 1960s.

In the middle of February I photographed the current exhibitions at the Emil Schumacher Museum in Hagen. The smallest exhibition was the "Woyzeck and Mephisto" in the Cabinet, it shows theater illustrations by Emil Schumacher from the late 1940s.

Photo contest
At the photo contest from the Light games at the castle of Hohenlimburg, two of my photos were awarded. From a total of 400 photos were send in, a jury have chosen my tower picture on the 3rd place and the spiral picture on the 5th place! That made me very happy!

Husky walk
In the forest of Thüringen, we have been through a 2-hour Husky hike. Everyone has a dog get tied around the waist and then we went through the forest. For the dogs, the normal response of course was too slow, of course they always wanted to run faster. It was a nice experience, hiking like this is really fun.

Forest of Thüringen
In early February, we were for one day in Tambach-Dietharz in the forest of Thüringen. Early in the morning I walked to the Spitterfall, and if it was not frozen, it could be quite nice. So I have seen almost nothing but the walk has done quite well despite the cold (-18° C). Here are some pictures of the forest of Thüringen:

Light Games 2012

Dices
You can already do a lot of photography with water. This time I just let dices fall in a small water-filled aquarium. For the lighting setup I used two studio flashes: the main light with a beauty dish in a 45° angle from the front of the aquarium and a standard reflector on the white background. I have done the pictures with the Canon EF 100mm 2.8 macro lens, with an exposure time of 1/200 second, an aperture of 13 and ISO 100. It was really fun and I came relatively quickly to good results, I think!

Waterdrops
On saturday I just decided to make a few photos of water drops. I hung a bag of water over a small tub of water. Through a hole in the bag, the water dropped into the tub. I used a flash, the Canon Speedlite 430EX II, and redirected the light with a white reflector. In retrospect, I'm still not quite satisfied with the results and would do things differently the next time. Here are still a couple of images:
